The real reason the news topic discussion forums closed was that so many participants were conservative?
I used the forums often, and found them a refreshing hit of free speech. The majority of users were conservatives, though there was a lot of nasty invective from both political extremes. The reason given for shutting these down is BS. They were not controlled by just a few vocal users. In fact, the beauty thing was the sheer number of users willing to offer up speech that is censored in the common news media. Mr. Budde’s excuse for this is smokescreen for more liberal censorship of opinions it disagrees with. I’m sure if he could purchase talk radio stations and fire the conservative hosts, he would gladly do so. Yahoo! is committed more to political orthodoxy than the free market of ideas. At least be honest about it. I could respect you if you said, “We own it, nah, nah!” instead of “Oh, we’re protecting those whose voices are drowned out by a few vocal extremists.” Face it, Yahoo!, you think free speech is fine, as long as it agrees with your perspective.

but be fair some loosers were abusing it
we should be able to make it so two post per hour was able to be posted per topic but three mounths shutdown is clearly out of order
i only dicovered the option a week before it was shut down
higher powers dont want some issues /spin shutdown by facts
noting we cant even acces it to read why ,but hey we got this forum
its up to us to work with what the powers that be allow
