I have a vision to build a shopping mall, but…?
I honestly don’t know where to start. Here is my Vision.
I would like to build a shopping mall from the ground up. Not me in particular, but I would like to have one built and I want to be the owner.
I want to have all the normal stores like, Sears, KB TOYs, Radio Shack, etc. BUT I want to have some of my own store too that will benefit people.
Of course there would be separate floors for that.
I really don’t know what that would be called, (Owning a Shopping Mall) Is that a Mall Developer?
What qualifications do you need to have in order to do something like this?
How do you get started?
I want to be able to have complete control of my Mall.
How would I get Sears and other stores like that to be part of my Mall? How does all this work?

You should start with some research about what your local area shoppers want. If your town/city is really into movies/cinema, you might consider adding a movie theater into the design.
When it comes to adding “your own store”, you would definitely NOT want any other store that sells similar products to create competition – make it so your store is the ONLY source in the mall to buy the product.
I’m not a complete expert, but having some education/degree in business management probably would help in persuading retailers into your mall.
I’ve learned that having locally-based stores (“mom-and-pop stores”) helps the local economy – and help spread the word about the local businesses.
