Radio Controlled Watches

Information Radio Controlled Clocks from serendipity-gifts
Clock technology has progressed out of all recognition since the last century. The advent of quartz clocks in the 1970′s meant that we have all come to expect really accurate timekeeping. It might sound a lot now, but if a clock was accurate to within 5 minutes a week it was considered good before quartz came along. Originally to be called a chronometer a clock must be accurate to within 45 seconds a week, this sounds abysmal by today’s modern standards.
Now we have Radio Controlled Clocks (often called Atomic clocks) which offer even greater accuracy, manufacturers claim anything between 5 seconds in 10,000 years to 10 seconds every 1,000,000 years but the fact is they will be 100% accurate within our lifetime.
Your Radio Controlled Clock will act as a receiver and gets the MSF (Radio Controlled) signal transmitted from Anthorn Radio Station in Cumbria by VT Communications, under contract to NPL. It is transmitted right across the UK carrying a time signal and also the year, month, day of the month, day of the week, hour, minute and second. This signal automatically updates for British Summer Time or Greenwich Mean Time, so that the hour change is updated automatically on your clock in March and October, meaning there is no need to remember to set your clock before going to bed when the hour changes.
Although these clocks have been around now for a few years now, the progress in manufacturing techniques mean that a Radio Controlled Clock movement can be inserted in most types of clock or with miniaturisation, even in to watches, a few years ago they where large cumbersome movements only seen in larger clocks. Now they often come with temperature or even a weather display and are made by lots of different manufacturers in all sorts of styles including digital or analogue.
Because of modern manufacturing techniques the prices of Radio Controlled Clocks has also dropped dramatically, starting from around only £10.00 so why not experience 100% accurate timekeeping from www.serendipity-gifts.co.uk , we offer a good range which is ever changing and fast postage.
Never have to set your clock again!
