Though it is not really as powerful as the Traxxas Jato or Traxxas Revo, the Traxxas Rustler is still a strong radio-controlled truck enough for a starting RC hobbyist. Ready-to-run and only costs about half of most competition-only stadium race toys, one can expect awesome lots of fun because of the Rustler‘s durability and high performance.
As for the exteriors, this radio-controlled truck plainly says that it isn’t all about the looks. It has a bright orange color, and is available with different color schemes, like faded white, blue, purple or black, in the rear. The Traxxas Rustler‘s body is fully trimmed and finished with ProGraphix. This unique body-painting produces crisp coloring, smooth fades, clean lines and an overall very professional graphic design. As for the wheels, this radio-controlled truck uses shiny TRX ProStar chrome wheels which definitely adds to rugged, mountain-trekking look of the Traxxas Rustler.
Yes, this truck plainly says it isn’t all about the looks. Because it gives a better-than-average performance compared to most radio-controlled trucks; what with its TRX 2.5 racing engine under the hood. Though generally it is weaker than the TRX 3.3 engine when it comes to horsepower, still the Traxxas Rustler should not be underestimated. It runs with a race-tested Magnum 272 transmission. This radio-controlled truck’s additional standard features are its double deck T6 aluminum and composite chassis, tune pipe exhaust system, adjustable easy-to-change gear ratios, extra long fibre-composite suspension arms and excellent disc brakes. The Traxxas Rustler also has stainless steel bearings, 48-pitch gears and a low-maintenance planetary-gear differential. Aside from that it also has bell-crank steering, live front axles and centered kingpins.
But what gives Traxxas Rustler an edge among consumer markets is that, unlike the higher end Traxxas Revo and Traxxas Jato, it is also available in electric version. Nitro-powered radio-controlled trucks usually costs high and requires high-maintenance. For RC hobbyists who don’t want to be burdened yet thirst for a high pro-level performance, the Traxxas Rustler is a perfect orange road monster. It has all that good looks, handling and style for an affordable price.
