Radio Control Servos And Receivers
Modulation in RC Applications ?
I have one questions pertaining to radio control, anything suggested that could help me better understand the subject is greatly appreciated. (Diagrams, Websites, Books)
How are frequencies modulated by pulse width? I know the theory of pulse width modulation, I just don’t know the circuitry involved.
My visualization of the system with a servo involved:
Transmitter > Receiver > Modulator (How does this work???) > Servo (Potentiometer and Actuator)

you can’t really say it any better than that. Assuming you have a reference, a digital pulse can modulate the phase by adjusting the location of the rising edge on the pulse. You can increment or decrement the phase a little every time and you have frequency modulation out of your digital square wave. You can generate a PWM signal with anything, try starting with a microcontroller, a comparator with a triangle wave at the input, or a 555 timer.
Modulator > Transmitter ——> Receiver > Demodulator > Servo
