The South Western Railways has embarked a new project to covert a bogie into a fully air conditioned office under public private partnership(PPP) model for a period of one year and if succeeds, will extend the scheme.
An A/C Chair Car of 2027/2028 CHENNAI-Bangalore Shatabdi Express , which can be equipped by a third party with GPS/GPRS connectivity,phones,wi-fi connection for internet,projectors,microphones,on board operation and control facilities to run an office, setellite radio, a small make-shift pantry and any other facilities after consent from the railways.
How you view it? Will it be a successful venture?

Yes Bull, this will be a huge success and will definitely benefit business class and white colour proffesionals very well! As long as people don’t misuse such ventures it will be real hit.
This venture should also be implemented in short distance trains that connect business centers. I don’t see much benefit for long distance trains.
They better have good monitoring system and excellent firewall to prevent any misuse and have the compartment guarded by armed RPF officials (not with old style riffles).
