Radio Control Garage Door
2001 Dodge stratus coupe power outage. Same car as an eclipse. Electrical problem…?
Hello! I drive a dodge stratus! 2001, RT, v6 3.0 6g72 engine. 2dr coupe, the car is identical to a mitsu eclipse of the same year.
57k miles… great shape all around.
I recently installed a new stereo.. and everything was good.
Now yesterday I proceeded to turn the car on and not everything went on with it. My radio was blank and so was the compass pod up top. My interior lights also wont turn on at all. The AC switch isnt working. The visor lights and my garage door opener are out too.
The dash lights up, all outside lights work, heater controls are good. i tried my old stereo and no dice with it either.
Also the car seems to be idling lower than usual since this started. It usually sits just over 500 rpm and now its vibrating at 350 and then it picks back up to 500 and stays calm.
I had a check engine light going for a few days prior to this happening and now its out.
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
first off you need to have the computer scanned on it,what might have happened is the computer got spiked on it with a shot of voltage it couldn’t handle,and this will dis-able it,or make it run like that ,when you said you had a check engine light then it went out ,that sort of gave it away right there,have the car scanned,this will give you a trouble code for it,i hope it didn’t spike the computer ,because if it did it will have to go to a dealer to be re-programmed,good luck with it.
