Can You Remember The First Time You Shopped At WalMart …..?

I’m just curious … I’m watching the biography of Sam Walton (like him or hate him … he was a very important man to America) and I honestly can’t remember the first time I stepped into a WalMart … or where.
I can remember when I first heard of or saw a K-Mart (on a visit to relatives in Louisiana somewhere in the early 70′s … (my aunt bought me a bag of Army Men and plastic Dinosaurs)
and I remember the first time I shopped a Sears (in Athens, Georgia when I bought a Japanese Zero model airplane by the Revel company) That sucker cost me $2.99 and I thought I was robbed!)

I remember. It was just last year, actually. I’ve been living in Germany for the past 12 years and my family just moved back to the United States last year. The first time we went to Walmart, the first thing I thought was “My God! How can this place be so huge?!” and I was a little worried because my parents were complaining that things were expensive. Then we got out of the grocery part of Walmart and into the department store part of it and I’m like “It’s not just a grocery store?! How can they have everything under one roof!!” Then we got to the part of Walmart were they sell all the electronics and video games, and I almost passed out because I couldn’t fathom how one single store could carry so much different merchandise. In Germany there were stores for each individual thing, not all rolled into one!
