Model Airplane Lighting Systems
Why is there such a big scare of the Russian Flanker out there?
A Su 27/35 is just an airplane with superb maneuverability. Its’ ECM suite and its’ RADAR system are highly questionable. I would think that an early model F15, Lighting, Saab Draken, or a Mirage F1 can hold their own against it quite nicely.
It all depends on the avionics and weapons package associated with it and the tactics the pilot decides to use. With the right radar OFP, the right weapons, the right ECM suite, and the right tactics, it can be very lethal to 4th Generation western fighters.
However, western-trained pilots with 4th+ generation fighters (F-16 with CCIP) or 5th generation aircraft can make short work of it.
