Model Airplane Covering Tips

What is the proper way to glue balsa sheeting over a balsa model airplane frame?
I want to cover my airplane frame with 1/16 inch balsa sheeting, sand it, seal it, and I was hoping someone could offer a few tips.
I built a R/C model plane years ago and covered mine in special strong airframe tissue which is designed for airframes and should be covered in dope, just see your local shopkeeper for advice.
In answer to your question however I reckon my solution would be to lightly score the balsa with a sharp craft knife every 1 CM from side to side along the top in order to bend it down and use a balsa glue – again see your local shop for this stuff.
Without seeing the model I cant really help any more with shaping, but balsa glue is the stuff to use for it is light. One final point is that by covering with balsa sheet you will add to the weight thereby requiring a larger engine for power. Good luck with the model and just cos you too are a model builder heres my webpage :-
