corolla 2000 vs portege 2001?
hi,
im looking to purchase a used car and i ve found these 2 cars, one is a toyota corolla 1.8l 2000 with 95k, and the other is a mazda portege 2001 with 93k miles.
Which car would you recommend?
the corolla is about 3800 and the mazda 4k.
the corolla is cheaper to maintain, and also very good in gas but it is a basic car.
the mazda is 2.0 liter wich is more expensive to maintain but its not a basic model (radio cd, moon roof, cruise control, power doors, alloy wheels etc)

The extra features and driving experience the Mazda offers are very nice but in this price range I assume that reliable point a to point b transportation is most important and while the Mazda would be good for this you really can’t beat the Corolla if it’s been properly maintained.
My main concern would be cost of ownership per mile and the Corolla will be cheaper to buy and maintain.
