Fox Model Airplane Engines
which way is a fox model airplane engine suppose to spin?
i have this little fox engine and i can’t figure out which direction to start it
the prop looks like it is suppose to go counterclockwise and when i spin it clock wise it spits gas back through the carb
When looking at them from in front of the plane, most spin to the left, counterclockwise, there are however, engines that spin the other way also.
Just look at the propeller. When running it should pull the air from in front of the plane and push it to the back of the plane.
Yours is a “standard” engine that spins counterclockwise when looked at from the front. THAT is indicated by the fact that it “spits” the gas out of the carb when spun the other direction.
NOTE: From the ENGINE’S point of view, it is spinning clockwise.
