best rc car in the $300 range?
my husband wants an rc car for his birthday. id like to stay in the $300 range, $375 tops. he is new to the hobby. he wants to build a track with his friend & purchase a car for my father. he prefers electric, brushless motor, 1/10th scale & 2.4 gh radio control. can anyone point me in the right direction? if one of his ‘musts’ is not a good idea, i can take it in a different way. hes not sure cause hes never owned one. please, fill me in. whats my best buy?
A good RC for that price would be the Traxxas Slash. It’s 1/10th, electric, brushless, 2.4ghz radio and even has waterproof electronics. Traxxas is a high quality, dependable RC manufacturer as well. If you look on the home page of Tower Hobbies, there are coupon codes you can enter at check out to save a few extra $$$’s, and shipping is free. This would be right in your budget. There is also a 2WD version for about $100 cheaper. This is a pretty good basic starter if he has never owned a hobby grade RC, but the 4WD would be easier to control and handle better. If you think he would like something different, Traxxas makes other models as well. And I would stick to names like Traxxas, HPI, Associated, Kyosho, Tamiya and Losi. Stay away from WalMart and Radio Shack brands. Traxxas comes with waterproof electronics and that’s the best selling point for me. I own 5 Traxxas models and love them. I’m sure your husband will too. You are a good wife. Hope this helps!
