Cheap Radio Controlled Boats
What would i need to do to make my radio louder in my boat?
I just installed a Radieo i bought from academy sporting goods. The problem im haveing is i cant seem to get my volume loud enough to really hear on the water. i tryed adjusting all the controls to there max. would installing a cheap AMP help increase the volume? Its a Duel brand system and it seems like its well made but just very low volume
can you be more exact on what stereo and what speakers you have?
without that info, the answers you can get are fairly limited.
dual is a cheapy brand radio, walmart special. while it may claim to provide a decent amount of power, about 40 watts per speaker, cheap stereos or amps never actually hit the maximum rated power.
a better stereo, a cheap sony, jvc, pioneer, with the same rating on it, will put out more power.
amp, unless your speakers are higher end, they cant handle too much power to begin with.
and a cheap amp wont put out much more power then your cheap radio does.
by time you pay for an amp capable of truly putting out a good amount of power, you could pay for a better stereo. and you wouldnt need to wire in an amp that way.
and of course there are the speakers themselves. you may want to upgrade the speakers, or the original speakers could NEED replacement.
