Build Radio Control Kit
Can you build a good system from a factory head unit?
So i have this new Ford Fusion with a 4 speaker system, but it has Sync, Satellite radio and al the climate controls et cetera are basically built into the radio. Is it possible to add onto the speaker and add bass without having to swap out the entire head unit and buy a dash kit? Thanks!

You can.
The main problem with modern stock HU’s is some of them have built in eq functions mainly to remove low frequency material at high volume to protect the speakers.
You can neutralize that with some aftermarket stock interface eq’s, but they are generally expensive, and unless you are a very refined listener they may not be worth the expense.
Rockford’s is called the 3sixty, JL has the cleansweep.
The simple/effective way to go is use a line out converter. These connect parallel to your stock speaker wires (preserving the use of the speaker) to give you rca pre-amp connections.
